This is worth a second look if hope is something missing in your life!
Introduction
Are messages of hope and warning still relevant to us today? If so, what does faithful living look like? These questions are addressed in the Old Testament through the various pre-exilic prophets. One such Prophet was Micah, who warned Israel and Samaria of its crimes and corruption just before the fall of Samaria sometime around 721 B.C. “His name is an abbreviation of Mîkāyāhû “who is like Yahweh?”[1] This meaning most likely symbolizes YHWH’s incomparability rather than Micah’s godliness.[2] It is through Micah’s warnings of doom and messages of hope that parallel the relevance of this book to the modern society of today.

I always love to see the Old Testament preached. Never see it much these days, even though the Gospel message is right there in the older books too. Thank you for the reminder.
Ah Micah. This is eldest son’s namesake. My husband had said he wanted him to have a Bible name, so be closed his eyes and flips through to land on Deuteronomy. Needless to say that didn’t fly lol.
I find it interesting that all the prophets of old have a similar message as our current evangelical message.
1. They all told the Jewish people to turn from their wicked ways and repent. 2. To turn their hearts back to Yahweh and away from the other pagan religions. 3. That they all risked destruction and the only way to save themselves was to pursue Him.
Jesus is of course, the fulfillment. It’s mind-blowing how it all comes together , right? It’s beautiful.
